The Travel Smart Journeys (“TSJ”) programme (the “Programme”) is a rewards programme managed by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (“LTA”). The purpose of the Programme is to encourage and incentivise commuters to switch their modes of public transport to ease the peak hour crowds on the rail network.

By participating in the Programme, you agree to:

(a) be bound by the following Terms and Conditions (including but not limited to the Privacy Policy clause in Clause 9), as may from time to time be updated by LTA and published on the Site and the App (both of which as defined in Clause 3.4); and

(b) participate in the Programme in good faith and in an honest manner.

1.1 The period of the Programme (“Programme Period”) commenced on 20 March 2023 and shall continue until it is terminated by LTA.

1.2 LTA reserves the right at its sole discretion to terminate the Programme without any prior notification to you or the public, without incurring any liability.

2.1 The Programme is open to anyone with an active SimplyGo account. Selection of eligible users (each a “User”, collectively the “Users”) by LTA shall be on the basis of the extent to which Users' historical commuting data meets the underlying Programme criteria.

2.2 LTA shall have the sole discretion and right to select Users for this Programme based on the eligibility criteria and such decision shall be final. LTA shall not be obliged to provide any reasons for its decision or to disclose the criteria for the selection of Users. The Users selected for the Programme will be informed via the Notifications Inbox on the Site and/or the App, email address (as provided by the User in the SimplyGo account), or push notification from the App (“Site” and “App” as defined in Clause 3.4).

2.3 Any breach of these Terms and Conditions may result in Users’ disqualification from the Programme. In the event that Users’ SimplyGo account is invalidated or terminated by Transit Link Pte Ltd for any reason whatsoever, LTA shall have a right to disqualify such Users from the Programme. Users shall also return any or all Rewards (defined in Clause 4.2) and incentives earned through the Programme, if required, within the period stipulated by LTA at its sole discretion.

3.1 Application to participate in the Programme is voluntary and may be made to LTA from 20 March 2023, until the termination of the Programme. As the Programme will be hosted on the Site and App (as defined in Clause 3.4), you will first be required to register for a SimplyGo account and log in to the said account to register your Travel Card(s) (as defined in Clause 3.3), should you wish to apply to participate in this Programme.

3.2 The details (including the personal identification information of Users) required for the application are set out below. By applying to participate in the Programme, you consent to the release of the below information by Transit Link Pte Ltd to LTA for the purposes of your participation in the Programme:

(a) email address;

(b) mobile number; and

(c) if the Travel Card (as defined in Clause 3.3) is a CEPAS card, the 16-digit CAN ID number reflected on the CEPAS card. If the Travel Card is a contactless bank card, the token number(s) generated using the 16-digit number imprinted on the contactless bank cards.

3.3 The registered SimplyGo account will also act as the account login for each User. Users shall nominate only one CEPAS card CAN ID number or contactless bank card number for the purposes of allowing LTA to determine the User’s eligibility for the Programme and for the allocation of points to the User’s SimplyGo account at any given point in time. Each User shall only nominate the CEPAS card or contactless bank card that belongs to the User and will be used by the User during the Programme Period. The CEPAS card or contactless bank card that is used by the User during the Programme Period and nominated by the User for the purposes of allowing LTA to determine the User’s eligibility for the Programme and for the allocation of points to the User’s SimplyGo account under this Programme shall hereinafter be referred to as the “Travel Card”.

3.4 There shall be only two modes of application: (1) online via the website of SimplyGo Portal at www.simplygo.transitlink.com.sg (the "Site"); or (2) the SimplyGo mobile application (the “App”). Instructions on the application process are available on the Site and the App, which are owned and operated by Transit Link Pte Ltd.

3.5 In the event of any loss of, or damage to, the nominated Travel Card, Users are required to promptly nominate a new Travel Card at the TSJ module on the Site and the App.

3.6 Users are not allowed to apply to participate in the Programme with more than one SimplyGo account.

4.1 Only eligible Users selected to participate in the Programme will be allocated points for trips travelled on selected bus or train services using the nominated Travel Card on weekdays (excluding public holidays) during the Programme Period, if the specified criteria are met.

4.2 Points can be used for the redemption of credits (“Rewards”) which can be transferred to any of the User’s registered CEPAS cards or contactless bank cards at a fixed, pre-determined rate. For the avoidance of doubt, while only one Travel Card is permitted to be nominated by the User for the purposes of allowing LTA to determine the User’s eligibility for the Programme and for the allocation of points to the User’s SimplyGo account, the User can choose any of his/her registered CEPAS cards or contactless bank cards on the Site and/or the App for the purpose of redeeming Rewards.

4.3 LTA may at its sole and absolute discretion, and at any time without prior notice, decide or change the quantum of the points and Rewards. Experimentation in this Programme is to be expected, hence the points and Rewards given during these experiments may vary from time to time. This is to allow LTA to better understand the effect of the points and Rewards.

4.4 The Rewards, if any, will only be processed for crediting to the User’s registered CEPAS card or contactless bank card on a weekly basis, after the User has indicated on the Site and/or the App, his/her preferred registered CEPAS card or contactless bank card for which the Rewards are to be credited to, and has redeemed his/her points for Rewards. Rewards credited to the User’s CEPAS card can be redeemed at any SimplyGo Ticketing Service Centre (“ SimplyGo TSC”) or Ticket Office (“SimplyGo TO”), SimplyGo Kiosk (“SimplyGo Kiosk”), , Assisted Service Kiosk (“ASK”) or Top-Up Kiosk (“TUK”). If the User opts for the Rewards to be credited to his/her contactless bank card, the crediting of Rewards will be processed by the issuing banks and reflected in the User’s monthly bank statements. Users who have upgraded their EZ-Link or Concession cards to SimplyGo EZ-Link or SimplyGo Concession cards will have the Rewards directly credited into their cards.

4.5 The Reward redemption is deemed final upon the User’s redemption of the Rewards at any SimplyGo TSC, SimplyGo TO, SimplyGo Kiosk, ASK, TUK, the Site or App.

4.6 In the event that the User’s registered CEPAS card is lost, has expired, or is corrupted before the User has redeemed the Rewards at any SimplyGo TSC, SimplyGo TO, SimplyGo Kiosk, ASK or TUK and before the claim period referred to in Clause 5.2 has expired, the User can request any unredeemed Rewards that are claimable by the User in the lost or expired or corrupted registered CEPAS card to be credited into a new CEPAS card registered in the User’s SimplyGo account to be claimable by the User. The User is required to inform Transit Link Pte Ltd in writing via the Feedback page at the Site and/or App, informing Transit Link Pte Ltd of the lost or expired or corrupted registered CEPAS card, and to furnish details of the registered CEPAS card which the unredeemed Rewards are to be refunded to.

4.7 In the event that the User’s registered contactless bank card is reported lost to the issuing bank or is cancelled by the User before the Rewards are successfully credited to the User’s registered contactless bank card by the issuing bank, the redeemed Rewards will not be credited to the registered contactless bank card. In such cases, the User shall have the same number of points which were used by the User to redeem the Rewards, refunded to the User’s SimplyGo account.

4.8 In the event that the User’s registered CEPAS card is lost, has expired or is corrupted after the User has redeemed the rewards at any SimplyGo TSC, SimplyGo TO, SimplyGo Kiosk, TSC, ASK or TUK, the redeemed rewards will not be transferred to another CEPAS card (whether registered by the User or not) and the value of the redeemed rewards will not be refunded to the User as points back to the TSJ account. For more information on lost/expired/corrupted CEPAS card, please refer to the Conditions of Issue and Use for Stored Value cards here.

4.9 For the avoidance of doubt, in the event where a User is found to have participated in this Programme with more than one SimplyGo account and has any of his/her SimplyGo account(s) invalidated or terminated by Transit Link Pte Ltd pursuant to Clause 2.3, any points allocated to the User in the invalidated or terminated SimplyGo account(s) will be forfeited, and shall not be transferable to any of the User’s SimplyGo account(s) that have not been so invalidated or terminated.

4.10 The User shall not lend or allow any other person to use his/her nominated Travel Card during the Programme Period.

4.11 LTA may at its sole and absolute discretion, and at any time without prior notice, change the manner of redeeming points set out in Clause 4.2. LTA shall not be obliged to provide any reasons for the change. In the event that any change results in only one method of redeeming points (i.e. crediting of Rewards to either the registered CEPAS card or contactless bank card) being made available to Users, Users will be notified via the Notifications Inbox on the Site and/or the App, email address (as provided by the User in the SimplyGo account) or push notification from the App. Users are required to select the registered CEPAS card or contactless bank card (as applicable) for which any crediting of Rewards is to be made under the sole method for the redemption of points.

5.1 Points may be used to redeem Rewards within six (6) calendar months from the points posted date, which is available for viewing on the Transactions page in the TSJ module on the Site and/or the App. Upon the successful redemption of points for Rewards, the User will be notified via the Notifications Inbox on the Site and/or the App, email address (as provided by the User in the SimplyGo account) or via push notification from the App. After the claim period, the points will be automatically forfeited and no claims whatsoever (such as but not limited to compensation) shall be entertained. Successful redemption of points for Rewards, along with the transaction posted date, is available for viewing on the Transactions page in the TSJ module after the User has logged into his/her SimplyGo account on the Site or the App.

5.2 After the Rewards have been successfully redeemed by the User, the User is required to log into his/her SimplyGo account for the earliest date (the “Stated Date”) on which he/she may proceed to any SimplyGo TSC, SimplyGo TO, SimplyGo Kiosk, TSC, ASK or TUK to credit the redeemed Rewards to his/her registered CEPAS card. Users acknowledge and agree that it is their personal responsibility to log into their SimplyGo account to keep themselves updated on the Stated Date. Any Rewards that are to be claimed by the Users shall be credited to the Users’ registered CEPAS card within three (3) calendar months from the Stated Date. After the claim period, the Rewards will be automatically forfeited. No claims whatsoever (such as but not limited to claims for payment or compensation) shall be entertained beyond the claim period. Successfully credited Rewards are available for viewing on the Transactions page in the TSJ module after the User has logged into his/her SimplyGo account on the Site or the App.

5.3 LTA may at its sole and absolute discretion, and at any time without prior notice, decide or change the duration of the claim periods referred to in Clauses 5.1 and 5.2 above. LTA shall not be obliged to provide any reasons for its decision.

5.4 If the User opts for the Rewards to be credited to his/her CEPAS card, the Rewards must be claimed by the User at any SimplyGo TSC, SimplyGo TO, SimplyGo Kiosk, TSC, ASK or TUK within the claim period as set out in Clause 5.2.

6.1 LTA's decision(s) on all matters relating to the Programme shall be undisputed, final and binding. LTA (including its agents) shall not be obliged to enter into any correspondence with the Users or any other party on any matter relating to the Programme.

6.2 LTA (including its agents) reserves the right at any time to remove Users from the Programme or restrict or terminate Users’ access to the TSJ module on the Site and/or the App if they are believed or suspected to be in breach of any of the Terms and Conditions herein, without giving any notice or reason and without liability to the Users.

6.3 The User undertakes to indemnify and not hold LTA (including its agents) liable for any loss, liability, claim or demand made by any third party under any cause of action whatsoever due to or arising out of the User’s breach of any of the Terms and Conditions herein.

6.4 LTA (including its agents) shall to the full extent permitted under the applicable law, not be liable in respect of any claim for any loss, damages, costs or expenses whatsoever (including, without limitation, any consequential, indirect, special, punitive or incidental damages) arising out of or in connection with the Programme or any activity related thereto.

6.5 LTA reserves the right to modify, suspend, discontinue or terminate the Programme at any time at its absolute discretion, or invalidate any application, claim or redemption by the User in connection with the Programme, without prior notice and without being liable for such action in any way to the User or anyone else.

6.6 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Singapore law and Users hereby agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

6.7 LTA’s rights and remedies under these Terms and Conditions are cumulative and are in addition to and without prejudice to any rights or remedies that LTA may have at law or in equity. Further, no exercise by LTA of any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate to hinder or prevent the exercise by LTA of any other right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions, or any other right or remedy available to LTA at law or in equity.

7.1 To the maximum extent permissible by the applicable law, LTA (including its agents) shall not be held responsible or liable for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, or mutilated registration entries, or for theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, transactions and records in the User’s SimplyGo account used in this Programme.

7.2 To the maximum extent permissible by the applicable law, LTA (including its agents) shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused to the User by any breakdown, malfunction or outage of any website, software, computer system or equipment or data loss.

7.3 To the maximum extent permissible by the applicable law, LTA (including its agents) assumes no responsibility whatsoever for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, or browsers, whether on account of technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or on account of any combination of the foregoing.

7.4 LTA reserves its rights to forthwith terminate and/or invalidate any User’s account(s), stop and/or invalidate all Rewards and points associated with the said account(s) and take any and all appropriate action (including legal action) against anyone who does not comply with the Terms and Conditions of this Programme, or attempts in any way to cheat and/or circumvent the objectives of the Programme and/or engage in activity that is an abuse of the Programme. Such activities include but are not limited to the following:

(a) using or exploiting errors in design and/or “programme bugs” to gain access that is otherwise not available, or to obtain an advantage over other Users;

(b) the creation and/or use of tools, automated scripts, software, robots or any third-party software to hack and/or connect and/or obtain and/or mine information from TSJ client or server software; and

(c) engaging in any activity that LTA deems to be an abuse and/or is contrary to the objective of the Programme.

8.1 This Privacy Policy as set out in Clause 9 below governs the manner in which the Site and the App collect, use, maintain and disclose information (including personal identification information) collected from Users who access the Site and/or the App. This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and/or the App and all products and services offered by the Site and/or the App.

Collection and use of Users’ non-personal identification information

9.3 LTA may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they access the TSJ module on the Site or the App. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users’ means of connection to the TSJ module on the Site and the App, such as the operating system, the Internet service providers and other similar information.

9.4 When Users participate in the Programme, they agree to share their past and present commute history, such as the start and end times, and station locations of their trips. The information is necessary for the workings of the Programme, such as awarding points and their redemption to Rewards, and for analysis by LTA. However, the analysis will not be linked in any way to personally identifiable information.

9.5 LTA reserves the right to publish statistical results from the Programme. Statistical results DO NOT include a User’s personal data, such as contact details, individual travel history or commuting patterns. Statistical results refer to aggregates of individual data, for example, to answer questions such as the percentage of morning peak travel commuters who shifted their commuting times or the percentage of morning peak travel commuters who shifted their commuting times after increased amounts of Rewards were given, etc. LTA (including its agents) will not disclose Users’ personal data.

9.6 LTA may share generic aggregated travel information not linked to any personally identifiable information regarding visitors and Users, with its business partners and trusted affiliates, and for the purpose of substantiating research reports.

LTA may also share this information with non-Government entities that have been authorised to carry out specific Government services. LTA will NOT share Users’ personal data with other non-Government entities without consent except where such sharing complies with the law.

9.9 Users who do not wish to provide their personal identification information should not apply to participate in the Programme. Users who have already registered for a SimplyGo account for this Programme may withdraw their consent to the use and disclosure of their personal data (including requesting deletion of your personal data that LTA has collected) with reasonable notice in writing by leaving feedback online at the Site or via the App and subject to any prevailing legal or contractual restrictions.
