The Google Pay app had a bug which resulted in public transport fare payments made using Google Pay to be erroneously displayed in the app recently. Google has since fixed the issue for the public transport transactions made using Google Pay to be reflected correctly in Google Pay app. Commuters using contactless bank cards and mobile wallets to pay public transport fares are encouraged to add their bank cards to the SimplyGo app to view detailed public transport fare payments and receive push notifications for fare deductions after each trip.
Singapore, 18 May 2026 – In collaboration with Mr. Merlion & Friends, SimplyGo launches the SimplyGo Adventure Quest, a unique in-app digital board game to make everyday commuting on public transport more delightful.
From 1 to 26 June, SimplyGo EZ-Link and SimplyGo Concession card users are invited to take part in the SimplyGo Adventure Quest where every tap on buses, trains or SGQR payment at retail points helps players move forward, unlock rewards and discover surprises along the way.
Digital stamp hunts will also be available at 44 SimplyGo Ticket Offices (TOs) and Ticketing Service Centres (TSCs) to bring the quest into the real world — perfect as June school holiday outings for students and their families.
Small Actions, Sweet Rewards
Pre-registration starts on Monday, 18 May 2026. Players who register during the Early Bird Special period from Monday, 18 May 2026 to Sunday, 24 May 2026 will receive a limited edition keychain or earn 2 bonus in-game steps for their SimplyGo Adventure Quest. More information on game mechanics can be found in Annex A.
Step Out and Play
Beyond in-app play, the quest extends into the real world. Players can scan QR codes on posters at SimplyGo TOs and TSCs for digital stamps to earn one step per location, capped at 10 steps. These digital stamps are awarded only when players are physically at each location, encouraging genuine exploration of Singapore’s public transport network.
