SimplyGo Launches Enhanced Mobile App

One-stop app to better serve commuters’ transit, motoring and payment needs.

 

Singapore, 6 September 2024 – Formed on 1 September 2024, SimplyGo Pte. Ltd. has launched the enhanced SimplyGo mobile app as part of its ongoing efforts to unify all transit ticketing and travel card-related services into a one-stop customer service touchpoint for commuters.  

2    The enhanced app unifies all functions currently available in the “EZ-Link” and “TransitLink SimplyGo” (TL SimplyGo) apps, making it easier and more convenient for commuters to access the full range of services that currently reside on two separate apps.  The latest version of the SimplyGo mobile app has been rolled out on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

 

Unifying Mobile App Services

3    When transitioning to the enhanced SimplyGo app, users of the EZ-Link app need not re-register their travel cards. Accounts registered using the same mobile number on the two platforms will have their accounts synced, so that cards registered under the EZ-Link app will automatically be accessible in the enhanced SimplyGo app. Please refer to Annex A for the process.

4.    The enhanced SimplyGo app will have key features that were previously only available under the EZ-Link app such as (i) top-up for EZ-Link cards (Card-based Ticketing- CBT) using the NFC function (including Auto Top-up features), (ii) card blocking for EZ-Link cards (CBT) and (iii) access to the EZ-Link Digital Wallet and Motoring Service. While features of the EZ-Link app have been integrated into the SimplyGo app, top-up of EZ-Link cards (CBT) will still be done via the NFC function and will require the physical card to be present; the card blocking feature for EZ-Link cards will still take up to 48 hours. 5.    To enhance the security of the app, registration for accounts will require a local mobile number for customer authentication. This will help with better fraud management and more accurate refund services. For accounts registered with a foreign mobile number, they can continue to use the app via the “Guest Mode” to access card services such as travel and fare guide, card balance and card expiry.

 

SimplyGo App – The Go-To Transit App 

6.     While users of the EZ-Link app can continue to access the existing EZ-Link app, they are encouraged to get on board the enhanced SimplyGo integrated app to enjoy the full suite of transit services. 

7.    The consolidation of the functions in the EZ-Link and TransitLink SimplyGo apps is the first stage in ensuring commuters can access essential transit services conveniently and effectively from a single app. Going forward, we will progressively launch more services/features (e.g., a wayfinding feature) to provide a better overall customer experience.
